A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A MEDICAL CLAIMS APPEALS REPRESENTATIVE

As a Medical Claims Appeals Representative, you arrive at the office each day ready to dive into the details as you identify, research, and resolve all types of medical claim disputes. You accurately log each appeal as it is received and prepare acknowledgment and response letters to members and providers.

In order to determine eligible benefits and understand how claims were processed or why they were denied, you develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of policies. Using your customer service skills, you assist providers and members with questions regarding their claims, appeals, or policies. You enjoy coming to the office every day where you know you are a valued member of our team!

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of medical claims and appeals experience or a Bachelor's degree in a health related field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as well as diagnosis and procedure codes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment

Professional coder certification is preferred, but not required. Are you a problem solver with great attention to detail? Do you have exceptional customer service skills? Are you able to take initiative? If so, you may be perfect for this position!

 

WORK SCHEDULE

The typical schedule for this office position is Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm.
